In a commanding display, England wrapped up another victory against their opponents, featuring a number of players producing standout performances on the pitch.

First-choice XI

The goalkeeper Had little to do to make during the opening 45 before tested from Arbër Hoxha’s curled attempt. A sliding challenge on an Albanian attacker showed his game intelligence. 6/10

The debutant Tested against Albania’s main danger through Hoxha. Played in a central role initially but moved out wide after a teammate was introduced. 7/10

The defender Pushed into midfield with the ball at his feet, as he has done in the past. At times seemed hesitant when carrying play and the approach abandoned by the interval. Six

Dan Burn Always dangerous from dead balls, typically, but may be an alternative to Stones in the backline rather than his partner. A careless ball after the break came close to the first goal for Albania. 6

The young full-back One more confident display from the rising star following his initial appearance versus another side. Saka did not capitalize on full advantage of an exquisite backheel over the opposing backline. The left-back spot is firmly his so soon. 7/10

The newcomer His first start for his country. Somewhat sloppy in possession though his dangerous corners were a threat. A handy pace-controller for the coach to utilize against teams who drop deep. Booked for a rash challenge. 6

The midfielder Set-pieces from dead balls and free kicks created chances. Was given room to roam on the left yet found himself in an offside position upon receiving in front of goal. Given a merited rest after an hour. Six

The star midfielder Operated in an advanced role out wide and also contributed with the hard yards. Showed glimpses of brilliance but scuffed a shot wide. Substituted in the closing stages by a teammate, his competition, after being booked. 7

The winger Was presented with the team's best chance before halftime, his shot excellently kept out by the Albanian keeper. As Quansah holding position, he was forced to offer an outlet out wide yet his deliveries from wide areas varied in quality. Replaced with 15 to go. 6/10

Harry Kane The difference-maker netting 77th and 78th strikes in an England shirt. The opener a typical poacher’s finish while the second a classy header having drifted away from his marker. Eberechi Eze Found it tough to get into the game out wide. Was presented with a good opening following a pass by the midfielder however the keeper kept it out. Rashford made much more of an impact in his place. 5
